Ensembles
The National Youth Orchestra of Ireland is the flagship ensemble of NYOI. It is a symphony orchestra for musicians aged 12-18. The orchestra is selected annually at rigorous national auditions. The auditions are open to young musicians who are from, resident in or studying in any of the 32 counties of Ireland. The orchestra meet at least twice a year, during school holidays, for residential based intensive rehearsals and a series of concerts.
