40th Anniversary Gala Concert
As a finale to a year of 40th Anniversary celebrations, NYOI invited past members to perform together again at the 40th Anniversary Gala Concert in the National Concert Hall on Sunday 28th November compered by Evelyn Grant. The first half of the concert showcased the many professional performers to have come through NYOI over the years; X-NYOI Brass condcuted by Fergus O'Carroll, members of the Irish Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Avalon and even a specially formed Samba Band! Then the orchestra, made up of over 80 players, spanning four decades of NYOI performed Dvorak Symphony No. 9 conducted by Gearóid Grant. For everyone involved it was an unforgettable weekend of music making, a chance to reunite with old friends and a great opportunity to make new ones! Thank you to everyone who committed their time and such great energy and enthusiasm to celebrate NYOI's 40th Anniversary.
