Ireland is one of the longest established National Youth Orchestras in EFNYO (European Federation of National Youth Orchestras)

It is also one of the only National Youth Orchestras whose members must pay fees to participate.

Although the fees are heavily subsidised by NYOI, it is unfortunate and unavoidable that our members pay fees as this contributes to almost half of our annual income.

Our long term goal is to ensure that no eligible musician is denied access to NYOI activities on the grounds of financial limitations.

Thanks to the generosity of NYOI Friends we will be awarding scholarships to young musicians in 2012. We will be offering €3000 worth of scholarships to 16 outstanding young musicians who are selected for the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland.

The scholarship amounts, ranging from €100 to €500, will be deducted from the course fees. For example if a players is awarded a €250 scholarship, €125 will be deducted from their Christmas course fee and €125 deducted from their summer course fee.

2012 Scholarship Recipients will be announced soon!
