Winter & Summer Programmes

The National Youth Orchestra meets twice annually for an orchestral residency and performance tour. During this time, the 100 talented musicians, selected nationally through competitive audition, receive vigorous training alongside leading orchestral players, conductors, and international guests.

Coming Up: 2024 Summer Programme

The NYOI’s 2024 Summer Programme will take place between the 12th July and 20th July 2024.

The orchestra will be resident at Newtown School in Waterford during the course, where musicians will receive training from top orchestral professionals from the National Symphony Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, amongst others.

The orchestra will perform alongside conductor Ruth Reinhardt and soloist Fiachra Garvey to present a exciting programme of Jennah Vainio’s Sylvia's Lullaby; Schumann Piano Concerto, and Sibelius Symphony No 2.

Concert Dates:

19th July at 19:30, St Canice's Cathedral, Kilkenny

20th July at 15:00, University Concert Hall, Limerick
